The topic that I have chosen to blog about for the semester is the Illinois Fighting Illini basketball team. While I cover the Illinois State men’s basketball team, I have been a die hard fan of the Fighting Illini since I was a boy. Throughout the struggles that have been persistent with Illinois basketball since 2013, the team seems to finally be turning it around this season. Currently first in the big ten (I cannot stop grinning at the fact) with a record of 15-5, 7-2 in the Big Ten, the Illini are showing glimpses of their glorious 2004 season, which was led by the likes of Deron Williams and Dee Brown.
